Are all jobs roughly the same?

TLDR: I recently relocated from Texas to NYC for what I thought was a “dream job” or maybe a better way to word it my first salaried job with benefits. Turns out it’s not like I had expected. I hate it. This is partially because the job wasn’t described well and partially because my office keeps losing people to burnout so my job duties just keep expanding with no compensation. After a particularly frustrating day I scheduled an interview with another company for a job that is a reasonable facsimile for what I do, it’s just in Portland Oregon. I know this company would be much better about keeping my job duties limited to my job description; it’s a small company where I have friends that all rate their job satisfaction well. My question is: Is it a bad idea to relocate for another job? Are all jobs roughly the same and I’ll just hate this perspective new job in six months?
