CA work break laws have led me to stop working

Put simply, work is exhausting and there aren't enough breaks in the day. One 10 minute break does nothing. And 30 minutes for lunch is only enough to sit down, eat, and return to work. Is it isn't restful and isn't paid. I don't understand why breaks aren't meaningful. There are companies who are giving 15 minute breaks every 2 hours, but they aren't paid and the employee has to be there an hour longer if they want them. Other countries give 1 hour lunch breaks and 2 or 3 15 minute breaks during the day. In retail we're lucky if we even get a 10 minute break. I get that I'm there to work but work would be easier if I had more time away from the stress. I'm not working anymore because I don't want to support a work culture that treats employees like robots. I am a…

I'm not working anymore because I don't want to support a work culture that treats employees like robots. I am a veteran and I have non-taxable federal pension, so it will be tough to retire so early, but doable with certian adjustments. The sooner the better.
