Those of us in the US should know that companies like HR Block and TurboTax lobby tf out of Congress to keep taxes confusing and stupid. As a compromise there’s a few free services that are poorly advertised but in the IRS website. They’re not even hyperlinked.
Can any of our tax savvy users maybe hop in here and make some recommendations? Is one maybe better suited for people with normal W2s while another is better for those with income from multiple states or 1040s?
My situation is pretty simple so I should be in the clear. But this stresses me out so I figured I’d ask. Maybe the mods can pin a post with advice?
