I(21m) have been working for my security position for almost 2 years now and haven’t once been shown a single ounce of respect. For most of my team we consistently walk around with targets on our back because if anything goes wrong regardless of who’s at fault the blame automatically goes on us. On top of that they expect us to do super hero level stuff for piss poor pay. For months, and I mean most of 2022 all we heard was promises of a big raise like more than $1.00 raise if we kept up really good work AND WE DID!!!! We currently get paid for $13.75 and we’re promised at least $16 and only got $14.50. On top of that they only just now got us proper uniforms for cold weather and finally allowed us to not wear our suit jackets while patrolling hot summer weather(only because someone finally had a heat stroke and they were required to) I was talking to my boss because of regardless of this me and him are close because I know he tries really hard to fight for us but his superiors don’t care. He told me that they want us to patrol even during harsh weather and if we had a problem with it that we need to just “bundle up” and if we didn’t do the patrols we’d be fired. What’s worse is when we complained about the raise we got they told my boss to mass hire a bunch of people and to fire the entire team if we didn’t like the pay. It’s mentality like this that promotes horrible work conditions and work ethic because no one wants to work for a company that doesn’t care about them. I just don’t understand why everyone keeps allowing stuff like this to happen. When will it be enough, I see people complain all the time but no one actually doing anything about it. I would if I had more people on my side…sorry for my little rant….I’m sorry but the American Dream is not only dead but 100ft in the ground
