It was a big event day at the store and they only had two employees working ( me being the only cashier). I couldn’t leave my station to use the bathroom or even eat or drink water because it was incredibly busy with me being the only one on the register ( the other lady doesn’t know how to use it). My boss called me to ask if I wanted to take my 1 hour lunch or go home an hour early. Before I could even answer she said it would be preferable if I went home early so SHE wouldn’t have to make the drive to where I was at to cover me for lunch . So I had no choice but to accept the leaving early deal which didn’t really matter because I ended up leaving 14 minutes past since my boss never went inside to charge the people, instead she called my co worker and asked her to tell her (my boss) when I left so she could go inside after I leave (I guess she didn’t wanna see me).
On Thursday she called me off work hours to ask if I’d seen an item that’s missing and basically accused me of stealing it, I stopped the conversation by telling her to check the cameras.
The week ends on a Wednesday and it’s already Sunday, I have not been paid yet. I never actually know when I get paid. One week I got paid in cash and the following they paid me with a check but the memo didn’t say it was for work, they just left it blank. They have not asked for my social or ID.
They told me they don’t pay overtime so if I want hours then I have to accept that any minute past overtime won’t be paid as OT but as regular pay. I have to accept it because when I first brought it up she proceeded to cut my hours significantly.
On my first day of work my boss made me clean the bathroom and referred to it as a hazing ritual like in college that they do with the new people. ( sadly I don’t have a recording of that).
