“You’re still a valued member of the team”

Long story short, my work is having a pickup sports day for employees. Sounds like fun? It is. I WAS excited for it…. One of the managers even came up to me asking if I was in, I said yes, and they asked if I had equipment or if I'd need to rent some. I told them I'd need some (since I didn't want to bring some stuff I do have with me on the bus to work) and they said I'll be taken care of (since we have connections). Sounds like a nice gesture, until the day comes up and of course, there's no plans for me, nothing available, all week I've been trying to talk to them about the day and they're always too busy or stressed to talk. And to top it off, my coworkers got to KEEP the stuff they rented AND their friends who don't…

Meanwhile I'm SOL, no equipment, but they still act like I'm a valued member of the team…yeah right.
