My MIL just lost her job as a 4th grade math teacher. Long story short, one student got upset with her, told their parent, their parent complained to the school and she basically got “canceled”. The school told her she needed to go through an extensive counciling program and that the board wouldn't know what to do with her next year and that they didn't trust her. Which obviously if they are gunna treat her like that over something so small that happened, I wouldn't want to work there either..
So she resigned, after 15+ years of teaching and is now having a career crisis (many things have been happening this year this was the tip of the iceberg for her) I don't blame her. She's had nothing but hell since covid with teaching.. she's over it.
I want to get her something as a “pick-me-up” preferably something from a local store or something I can make or order on Amazon. I want this to be a useful thread for anyone else who wants to help someone else out too. I know there's hope.
If anyone has no ideas but helpful words of encouragement, I will put them in a card for her at the very least! Thanks everyone!!
