Should I walk? Any advice is welcomed.

I was called by a previous employer to fill I was hired on in November for a small-high volume restaurant (11.5M rev/yr 145 employees) as a supervisor, with the intentions of filling a higher role within 2-3 weeks of starting. It was listed in my offer letter as a contender of director of operations, as a formality; so I thought. Said person in charge – making the decision – has slowly fed expectations for this role and wanted it to be filled unofficially before receiving title and pay.

We are at the 3 month mark and all of our employees were notified a week ago we are shutting down and being laid off.

I feel burned, unappreciated and used. I’ve completed every goal, task and project that was asked and exceeded well beyond my payroll and position.

After us finding out we were being separated, this past Monday, I notified said PIC I was finishing the week off and expressed how I felt there were other expectations that weren’t voiced until our conversation recently; also felt like I owed it to myself to hold each other accountable at our timeframe and integrity on my part, to myself. In my time here, I’ve made drastic changes for the better; increased team moral, sense of direction, increase productivity and retained employees. It’s noticed by all supervisors, directors and employees. Expectations and role were merky and unclear from the start.

He offered an apology and asked how it can be mended. He offered me the position I originally was hired for, less money than the previous person was making to fill the role; even though we agreed on negotiating on pay; with the expectations of continuing to develop and grow our establishment over the next month and a half ish that we remain open.

It was expressed that I don’t want to feel like he is retaining an employee and more like I earned it. I subsequently felt obligated, forced and guilt tripped (he went on to bring my new purchase of a house up as a reason to stay; also asked what my plans were and I expressed I would gladly take a lesser paying position that I felt I earned; appreciated and didn’t want to have animus feelings while in) to take. He also tried to bribe with our severance pay; which is only 1-2 pays worth. I’m he position was accepted Thursday and set to fill the role tomorrow.

I have felt uneasy and displeased with the entire situation and don’t feel motivated to feel or even work there anymore.

What would you do? Would you remain in this position for the remaining month and a half?

Would you resign effective immediately? I hate to be so back and forth and indecisive, but I feel morally wronged.

Thanks in advance
