We were filing my fiances taxes last week, and I noticed that the federal tax field was blank. I asked her if she had her last paycheck stub from 2022 to see if they had been taking federal taxes out. They had been. I told her to contact payroll or accounting to get a fixed w-2 to show she paid taxes.
When she went to work to ask for this information, other employees had mentioned the same thing happened to them as well. I told her that they all needed to report this if this has been going on for years.
I told my fiance to hold off on filing until she gets the fixed w-2 and for the other employees that this has happened too over the years, they have a limited window of time to report it to the IRS.
