You know what really bothers me?
The fact that on top of not increasing salaries, white collar jobs are asking for longer hours. Not only are you demanding more labor for less money but yr demanding more of my finite hours on earth. I just got an interview where the director said shes often on the floor until 10PM stuffing thank you notes (that could definitely be picked up the next day). I have a big interview with a law firm thats 9-5:30 but Ive been told repeatedly i dont get to ask for more than the salary being listed (im not going to say what it is in case they find this)
If yr asking for 42.5 hours (or more), then I expect that to be reflected. The job is non exempt but i doubt over time treats those 2.5 hours as overtime and again, for what. That individual time is not worth the extra… what 40-50 bucks per week?
UGHH girl capitalism and exploitation dumb
