Doesn’t get a day off till tommorow but has been working since the beginning of last week, usually around 11:00-6
She will commonly be the only shift lead on staff, over the last week and a half I have watched literally get more and more depressed. She is commited to her job because of her relationship (platonic) with the owner, but they take advantage of her because corporate companies always will. She deserves so much more than to be living in a 2 bedroom apartment with her friend, having to drop out of college because of stress.
On top of this, she is forced to stay extra usually if things aren’t finished. We are a very busy and fast paced sub shop so she usually has to stay late. I asked her if she was going back to this schedule after Tuesday.. she said yes.
Owner is taking a month off after this. Which he does deserve because his wife is giving birth but I worry about my coworker so much. She barely speaks at work compared to her usually joyful bubbly personality. OH ANDNON TOP of that, she has a stalker who will come into and she’s the only shift lead so she isn’t allowed to hide in the back.
Added bonus, new rule. No call no show is immediate termination. Call out without real “excuse” is a written warning,twice is you are taken off by he schedule and three is termination.
