It costs $95k for me to get by in the small, remote resort town I live in and it’s a requirement for me to go into the office located here. Why do companies think that $55k before taxes is appropriate or even close to a livable rate? My mortgage is 4k/month in the most affordable neighborhood within driving distance to my office. I don’t have children or a husband to support me.
