I've been following this sub for a long time. That's why I left my previous job after getting a new asshole manager.
Today the same thing is happening to me again. I was hired by an excellent dude with and excellent salary in order to do tech the correct way. Shortly after I was hired, my cool boss and the most senior employee were fired and swiftly replaced by another asshole manager.
I know he wants to rewrite the entire thing because he is too lazy to learn what we have and he wants to fire me because I don't fit in his plan.
Now he and hr tried to make me sign a bullshit non-kpi based PIP in which I acknowledge that if I fail their subjective pip they will fire me. But in my country if they fire me I get termination bonus, so by signing they would be able to not pay me that after 1 month since they already decided to fire me anyway.
I told them I wouldn't sign particularly because of that line and they said that they would remove it and send it to me to sign but they haven't and they won't. I'm also using my vacations in order to work only 3 days a week until they get the hint that I'm not going anywhere without my termination bonus.
Also I know that a key employee will quit next week.
My point is that reading this sub has made me wise and made me able to recognize these traps and just navigate around them. I'm not taking any of this personally, Im already looking for jobs while working the absolute minimum, all while laughing at the upcoming disaster.
That's all. Keep up doing little
