Messy Version of Being Downsized

I work for a restaurant. A few days ago, they told us that they are closing down from normal operations to only three day shifts and that they cannot sustain our normal hours or the full capacity of workers. However, they have put it on the workers to fight for who gets to stay for those three shifts. They keep saying 2 weeks is ample time to find new employment and that they are running things very smoothly. But they aren’t. This was sudden news, I’m scared, and I’m worried about finding new employment in order to pay rent and other bills.
