Hi! I work at a health care center as an administrator, meaning i have no medical education, only in IT. My only colleague had a baby last year and my new colleague “B” has a contract until the end of december of this year. I was hoping that she would be fully employed by then because we really need to be more than two administrators. She found out last week that her contract will not be renewed. She asked for a reason why but our manager said that it is not negotiable. Our manager has had something against B ever since she started (even though she was the one who employed her) and she often ignores B's emails and questions saying she doesn't have the time.
We are going to a job trip in about a month. It's gonna be quite nice with a hotel room, dinner and a spa but we are also going to do a lot of meetings and collaborations and shit to create better routines in the workplace. The nurses will be doing their thing and the doctors theirs. I find out today that B is not allowed to come because her contract ends in August. She's been with me through thick and thin for a year now and has gone beyond every expectation. I will have no-one to discuss with at this trip because I'm the only administrator. I know the nurses and the doctors but they know nothing about my job. I'm not asking for any answers, just venting and whining for a little bit. I have plans to quit soon but i have a 12-weeks notice in my contract and i just know it's going to be a hellish 3 months whenever i decide to hand in my notice.
