After promising for months that I would be converted to a full-time employee, my manager just told me it’s not happening

My manager said it had to do “with the economy” or something like that (despite getting two new hires in the last two months). The worst part is that they told me it was a sure thing and that I could tell everyone I wanted, and like a damn idiot I did. I’m usually never so trustworthy of a company and am always looking out for the next opportunity for myself, but I let myself get comfortable and put my trust in my manager and I hate myself that I did that. I’m just so sick of being a contractor. I’m sick of changing my insurance every year and not knowing where I’m going to be in a year. And of course there are no postings out there for roles with 2 years experience. Only senior roles. It sucks that I have to continue working like normal today. I just…
