This feels like a really stupid complaint but after running an entire department in his company for 1.5 years (and correcting him on the spelling multiple times), am I crazy for finding this kind of disrespectful? For context, its a small company. There are two owners and three managers that each run our own departments so we are sort of the second chain of command if that makes sense. Also for context: my name isn’t super common but usually people get the spelling down after the first correction no problem. I’ve only had this issue with a distant family member besides him but as stated before, my department is responsible for 10-15% of the revenue of the entire company. Even if I were a lower level employee I still think it would be just as lame.
The paystub has my name spelled correctly but he spells it wrong on the envelope and every time he texts me or refers to me in Slack. I’d get it if he had a special reason but as far as I’m concerned there’s no reasons besides a lack of caring to learn it. Once again this feels SO dumb to even post but does this happen to anyone else on here?!? It feels like the bare minimum to learn your employees names as an employer, right? Please tell me if I’m being silly/entitled about this!!
