Pregnant wife demoted

Good afternoon everyone, Some brief facts before diving in..My wife is approximately 5 month pregnant, I am two months from finishing up school so she has been the primary bread winner for the last 3 years. We are on her health insurance and all that. I took a job offer back home but that does not start until August (after I do my licensing). Back in January, when everything seemed to be fine (and before they knew she was pregnant) she asked to go full time remote when we move in August for my job. Good afternoon everyone,

Some brief facts before diving in..My wife is approximately 5 month pregnant, I am two months from finishing up school so she has been the primary bread winner for the last 3 years. We are on her health insurance and all that. I took a job offer back home but that does not start until August (after I do my licensing). Back in January, when everything seemed to be fine (and before they knew she was pregnant) she asked to go full time remote when we move in August for my job. They agreed but needed to think about the management position. We were fine with that to be fair.

Fast forward to today..

Just got of the phone with my wife who is in the biggest panic attack I have ever heard from her. She just told me how she was pulled into a meeting with the owner and his two sons who are section mangers for the company.

They started getting onto her about how much time she spends on x,y,x platforms compared to the other people in her department. Approximately 1-3 hour variation a day is what they told her (she had no idea they were tracking her). She attempted to tell them well that would make sense because of the amount of manager meetings she gets pulled into and training time for a new hire they had. They cut her off and told her those are just excuses and she is deflecting yada yada yada. She explained that she never missed a deadline or anything. She has handled huge projects for the company but they are just hyper focused on the time she spends compare to nonmanagent employees.

They demoted her and told her she would be an hourly worker when/if she goes remote.

I’m really at a loss right now. I feel so helpless because I’m so close to finishing school and this has seriously thrown a wrench into everything. She was supposed to go on maternity leave in August when I started my job and now it seems like she won’t have anything…

Any advice..
