I work at a local dinner spot in my neighborhood as a server. Last nights crew left a bunch of silverware which I had to roll. This is the 2nd week this has happened and I was not the first person to complain today or even make it a huge deal.
When the other server brought it up I stated I rolled over 60 silverware after doing marking trays just from last nights left over silver.
My boss then proceeded to stare me right in the face while slow clapping extremely loud in front of all of my other coworkers. And then said “I am not going to thank you for doing your job”. We got into a little bit of a spat after where I said I understood and was going to roll the silverware but I shouldn’t have been responsible for all of last nights silverware and it wasn’t cool to leave it all for the next shift. My coworker told me to stop talking to him because it was pointless because he had been drinking at another event. I had already closed out and left.
This isn’t the first incident or even the first person to bring up this problematic behavior as a boss. I feel completely disrespected. There is no reason anyone should ever clap in your face.
