Everyone complains about their job, but this one is absolutely insane.
I work for a drilling company, the owner calls his employees slaves, treated them like slaves, and will even make his non white employees work 10 times harder just because of the color of their skin.
I've been blown up, smashed in a hands by him being impatient, called the n word (I'm white), called see you next Tuesday all the time, he will yell at the inspectors or the people paying for him to do the job, constantly ridicules everyone for not knowing (everything) as most people really don't have a background in drilling, and it is the most chaotic and unsafe work I have ever done or seen in my life. Ive bben here one year and I've seen over 20 new employees, 9 people or less work there regularly.
How can a company behave like this? 2023 and you are calling me racial slurs in front of state inspectors?
I can find my own employment, I want to show them a lesson, but I think I'm just simply going to go my own way.
Are employers even allowed to act like this? I'm in an employment at will state. I just feel bad for all the people that have no clue what they are getting into.
Curiously, is there anything that can be done besides OSHA, which I assume won't do anything because drilling is dangerous work. I'm not going to mess with anyone's livelihood, just curious to see if this behavior can simply continue unpunished.
There is so much more.
PS I am far from soft, thus why I stayed so long
Curious to hear your thoughts, thank you
