I work noc shift as a caregiver and the business is about 10-15 minutes away from everything, with lunch breaks only being 30 minutes, so naturally I bring my own lunch.
My coworker and I have had problems before. He’s lazy and would rather gossip than take care of our residents. I’m typically the only one cleaning and caring for them. When I first started working, on the second day of him none stop gossiping and not getting the hint that no one cares, I told him to leave me alone and that I didn’t not care for his gossiping or his laziness. He didn’t take this well and loudly went off on me, calling me “fucking delusional” for telling him I’m not the only one who feels this way (my coworkers have also mentioned it and I was only on day two). I told management and nothing was done. Tonight, I decide enough was enough with my doing all the work and I told him he was in charge with caring for group a or group b of residents. I let him chose. He tried to throw a fit but I told him that if he needed help I would help but they were his responsibility.
Now to where I’m extremely upset.
In retaliation, he threw away all my food and snacks and then claimed he didn’t know it was mine(I’ve literally been working with him 4 days a week since I’ve started working here last month and have used the same containers every single day). I called my supervisor but of course nothing had come from it. I’m so over this guy and am currently thinking about finding a new job or just being really cold until he finds one.
Edit:mind you this is a 32 year old grown man.
