What’s the story in Canada?

A lot of posts I’ve seen in this sub are based in the United States, and a common theme I see are wages not increasing but rent is. People have often cited rent as a reason not to move to Canada, but it can’t be any higher than the US with inflation now, right? If the wages are high enough, they should offset anyway, not to mention if there are laws in place that actually protect workers.
