Hello all! Hoping to get some guidance here.
My boyfriend works at a small family owned business and deals with oodles of bullshit from them that corporations wouldn't be able to get away with.
One example is his place of work has two locations. They each generate the same amount of revenue and both do the same things. The people who work at the other location are a whole clique and, if the leader of the clique quits, the whole staff will walk. Due to that, the other location gets EVERYTHING. They were paid 55 hours throughout the whole winter while my boyfriend and his coworkers were struggling to hit 30 hours. Because the other location was overpaid over winter, now both locations will not receive any bonuses and all OT opportunities have been taken away…
Point is, my boyfriend just found out, after 2.5 years working for the business, that everyone else FT and his same position has been getting PTO and health insurance. He says he was never offered anything and, when he asks for onboarding paperwork to be presented, he gets two answers that are “we lost it” or “we don't have to present that to you”. Is this legal y'all???
