I got rejected from a job today for being “too passionate about what I do”

“No one wants to work anymore” more like no one wants to hire anymore. I often get rejected from entry level positions due to lack of experience but this is brand new. I emailed my cover letter and resume for a position that aligns with my passion for media. I got rejected within 24 hours and asked for constructive feedback and all they said was “there was too much passion maybe tone that down a bit” it literally was a standard cover letter from a networking site that I use all the time. The only “passionate” sentence I used was me talking about how I love social media because x,y,z and proved my capabilities with social proof. Imagine not wanting to hire someone because they were “too passionate and motivated for the job.” I’m glad I didn’t get the job because this alone shows me I would not have gotten…

Imagine not wanting to hire someone because they were “too passionate and motivated for the job.” I’m glad I didn’t get the job because this alone shows me I would not have gotten an ounce of respect working there. Know your worth.
