Customer said I should be slapped, manager said I should’ve worded what I said differently

I work a customer service banking job. One day, a customer came in to withdraw a large amount of cash. He requested a large amount in $20 bills but I said we can’t provide that much because banks carry a limited amount of cash. I told him we could provide about 150 $20 bills but I said let me confirm with my manager first. I went to my manager and she said only 100 we can do. My manager did explain to him and he got pissed that we dropped down from 150 to 100.
