I was accepted for a 5k student loan (actually, they offered me 10k). The payments after school would be about $135/month for 120 months. The payment plan through the school is about $150/month for 6 months… Excuse me? I know this is to make us work until we die and squeeze out every penny from us, but damn. They were also super weird about it because of my debt to income ratio and the community college being inexpensive. I didn't expect to be accepted even if we expect me to double my income.
Since my loans will be deferred I went with the out of pocket choice. I pay $150/month for the next 3 years and come out with the same amount of debt, or in 3 years or maybe $450/month for 10 years if I use only loans??? Make it make sense.
