Told to take unpaid time off after completing a major project and meeting production quota.

I work for a cannabis company. I have spent the past three weeks rebuilding an entire distillation lab in a room that was previously full of junk. I spent the first week, cleaning out the junk. The second week, installing the equipment. And the third week was mostly waiting around on electricians and cleaning glassware. I did this by myself, nobody bothered to help me clean or move anything. In the middle of the rebuild, they decide they want to buy a new benchtop distillation kit. They told me to stop setting everything up and work on that. So I spent 3 days doing that. All the while I have two bosses hounding me, “Why isn't this done sooner?”, “Where are we going to put all this junk?”, “We need more product.” So I get everything set up finally.

All the while I have two bosses hounding me, “Why isn't this done sooner?”, “Where are we going to put all this junk?”, “We need more product.”

So I get everything set up finally. A day ahead of the newly imposed deadline. I come in the next day, and they moved a bunch of packaging material into the room, because, “It's the cleanest room now, we don't want dust getting into the product.”

OK so we have to take apart the bench top distillation kit I just spent half a week setting up. Cool.

So I get thing finally set up and running. And before I even have one days work of work done on Monday, my bosses are complaining that I'm not making enough product. The production cycle for this material takes 48 to 72 hours, so we won't even have data until Wednesday.

By Tuesday, I can see that I will run out of available material to work on by Thursday. I inform my bosses of this.

Color me surprised, when by Wednesday, I have nothing left to work on.

The extraction team, had 3 weeks to produce enough product for me to get through the first week of production. And I don't have enough material to work on. After all the stress they put me through to get this up and running. They failed to supply me with work to do.

So now they wanted me to take today off and come in Friday.

I told them I'd be in to clean the machines and I'm taking Friday off instead and making this a 4 day holiday. I'm taking any personal belongs home today too, I might not go back.
