Clocking Out for breaks is against my religion.

I just started a job at a franchise McDonald's in Michigan. They want me to clock out for my one 30 minute break every day. This just feels so wrong to me. If a company cared about it's employees, wouldn't they just let you have breaks? I want to tell my manager that clocking out for breaks is against my religion. Is this something I could get away with?
