When I got medically separated from the military in February, I was supposed to receive money to help me move, and transition to civilian life. I was also supposed to have my moving expenses taken care of and have my furniture moved by the military as well.
Turns out the military literally forgot about me and didn’t help me do anything. I’ve drained my savings moving from California to Texas. I got a job here in Dallas. I was offered 19.59 per hour full time, as a Maintenance technician at a hospital. I took the job because I needed it.
Now that my savings are completely gone, It’s all catching up to me. Budgeting out my expenses and income.. I know soon I’m not going to be able to pay certain bills. I have a Wife and Daughter, and I feel like I’m letting them down. My wife is searching for a Job now but man I’m stressed out.
I guess my question is is 19.59 a hour normal/ good in Dallas Texas? I was a Helicopter Mechanic in the Navy I thought I could of easily got a good high paying Job here but I guess not..
