Every time I see people gather to ridicule some state or country for allowing child labor, there is nobody pointing out that young people working is not the problem. It is the fact that they would not be paid well, and would be mistreated just like adults are.
I for one would love to see a young person serving ice cream at a local shop where I used to work, and they are paid $25/hour, get full benefits, 2 months paid vacation time, and a bonus every year.
Basically every worker protection/nice thing you can dream of for an adult, should be taken as a template, and then expanded for children (things such as 8 hours max per week, not permitted to work more than 2 hours at a time, etc).
