I Started a temp job working in a warehouse over the summer. I’m a school security guard but my job ran out until the beginning of school. I Went in today feeling a bit hopeful but as I should’ve guessed the atmosphere was so weird. They showed me a quick little PowerPoint, gave me little to no instructions on anything, and barely said a word to me my whole shift. I don’t even have a real position as far as I can tell. I barely was trained on anything and basically did nothing except sweep the floors for the full 8 hours. I’m just trying to suck it up for two months until I return to my normal job but I’m just wondering why it’s like that.
