For context, my former teacher was involved in civil rights and labor rights movement from the 70-early 2000's; and she said striking/protest doesn't have the same power it once was but not because of the people involved mostly.
One the laws make it much harder to protest/strike and are unequally applied to put it nicely.
Two people can't afford to protest in the same way. So, many are on the edge that they can't protest because they literally can't risk it.
The powers that be know that other than bad PR they can wait stuff out.
Lastly, any protest will have to be not only prolonged but on a massive scale.
All that being said she that she says that she has seen the younger folk do remarkable things and it is up to us to change things.
