My employer is violating a labor law and I need some advice!

Hi everyone. I’m a housekeeper at a motel. When I come into work I’m given a checklist of tasks and when I finish them I ask if there’s any more work for me to do. Would it be normal and legal for me to ask her to reimburse me for what I wasn’t paid in the past? Or should I just say moving forward?
