There are two common threads running through all of the posts on this sub: feeling compelled to work for someone else, and not having enough to support oneself.
The capitalist/communist dichotomy doesn’t address these issue because in either case all the means of production are concentrated in a few hands.
The solution is distributism: widespread private ownership of the means of production. When you own your own property, you can grow whatever food you can’t afford from your wages. The more self-sufficient you become, the more choice you have about whom you work for. This system worked for hundreds of years and it can work again.
