Boss mad at me over following orders from manager

So I work food service part time, and my boss is upset with me over a couple little things, which are all things that my manager told me to do. Things like sweeping the floors “too early”, taking out the trash “too early”. I've been employed here for over a year, but I'm a college student and this is my job back home, so I've been gone for a couple of moths at school. Management is super hands off and horrible with communication. This instance of them being upset with me is the first I've heard from them since I've been back (for two months). Management is super hands off and horrible with communication. This instance of them being upset with me is the first I've heard from them since I've been back (for two months). On top of the little things, they watched back hours of security camera footage and are upset that I “didn't smile enough”. They were upset with my manager over the same thing. They suspended her this morning, and I go in tomorrow to get yelled at. How can I approach this conversation without deflecting the blame but also not owning up to things that I don't think are my fault? But also, are these things my fault?

If they are legitimately angry about these things, I feel incredibly disrespected and offended (particularly about the smiling). I don't think I will be returning to this job after I go to college again this fall. If this becomes a repeated thing I don't think I can stay at this job for very long.
