For privacy reasons I’ll just leave the company name out of this but, I worked for a very well known theme park in California and if you’re thinking six flags, you’re wrong.
I got hired into their warehouse with a group of people, we trained and worked well together. I immediately got a weird vibe from the manager and coworkers warned us about her and how she was quick to fire new hires. Like any job I just walked around eggshells and tried to be as respectful as possible until I hit the “1 month” mark. Everyone in my group got a “performance” review but during my meeting she went on ranting how I always seem so serious and my face doesn’t convey any emotion, she then goes onto say that one day I passed her in a hallway and when she said hi to me I said hi back and kept walking. Clearly she took it personal but I don’t know what she expected as I was on the clock. Whole performance review had nothing to do with my 9-5 work she just had a gripe with how I looked. This wasn’t a customer facing job so I didn’t really think much of it. I talked to coworkers and they told me she just wants to fire people(go figure)
I was fired a week later LMFAO
I contacted HR and emailed every possible person I could find.
HR called me a few days later and I explained every detail to them. The lady on the phone told me she would open an investigation and get back to me but she’d “need a week or two” that was 2 and a half months ago…
In hindsight the 5 employees I watched get fired in two weeks and the severe understaffing should have been a red flag LMAO
TLDR; don’t work for a mouse
