Well, it happened.
Almost 6 months ago I took a new job as finance in a dealer. Today I submitted my commission sheet for last month and the owner told me he wants to discuss my pay. I thought it was gonna be “Hey man, you’re doing good. Let’s raise your %” but instead I got the “last month wasnt that well for the dealer as a whole, you did good but we might have to change your structure”
I do everything here. Sales and finance. Changed the way we advertise, lowered the overhead by almost 8% in my short time here. Not ONE deal has been returned. Everything funded within 72 hours, even on weekends.
Our other guy quit almost 2 months ago so I’ve been working every single deal and now the owner expects me to pick up tag and title portions, service complaints and more without an increase, but a decrease in pay.
Only thing holding me from leaving now is I sold my personal car a couple months ago and have since taken a demo, which I will get detailed this weekend and return soon. Sucks this is how it’s gonna end, was very excited to grow and build here.
Going back to bartending, been doing sales for 6 years and I’m sick and tired of the constant fluctuation in pay.
