I had to share my success story! I work for a Fortune 500 company. They are currently worth about $50B.
I took my position in April 2022. It’s a traveling position and I have the largest territory in the company. So, I’m constantly on the road away from my family. It’s been really hard on my wife and kids.
Our fiscal year is June to May. We had our annual meeting back in late April. Of course, the company is posting record profits across the board in each division. My division is seeing the highest growth year over year. Personally, my counterpart and I have grown sales 34% year over year. Towards the end of the meeting, they provided updates to our compensation plan. THEY DID NOT GIVE ANYONE RAISE. I was pretty salty about that.
After stewing on it for a few weeks, I finally said something to my bosses about the optics of cheering about record profits and then only a few hours later saying there would be no increase in compensation. My bosses agreed and said he would “look into getting me a raise”.
I did my budget this morning and noticed that my paycheck on Friday was a few dollars higher than usual. I logged into our system and checked my paystub. Y’all….I got a 40 CENTS an hour pay raise. That equates to less than 1%.
I gave my notice about 15 mins ago. How fucking ridiculous.
