Should charities that help people with disabilities get work in minimum wage jobs be applauded?

I saw a group that helps people with disabilities get jobs, post about a man that they set up to work in KFC. All the comments were congratulatory and positive but I couldn’t help but take it badly. Why are people made to feel that to fit in with a normal structured life they need to be working in minimum wage jobs? Or am I looking too deeply into it?
