I just started a technician job where I work in a team of 5. My working hours are 8-5 with an unpaid hour for lunch from 12-1.
Everyone seems desperate to get back to working once they've eaten and most are back doing work by 12:30. Can I emphasise the unpaid hour part.
I've had a wide range of different jobs and ones where I'd even get told off for starting work again before my break ended. So this seems insane to me.
If I'm there for 9 hours I wanna take my sweet time on my hour off, is this usual? I don't want to crumble to peer pressure but don't want to piss anyone off as this is my first week on the job.
What do people do on their lunch breaks?
