Bosses want volunteers to do extra work but refuse to give raises for it

My job won't give people raises for replacing empty barrels/buckets, which have hazardous adhesives with full ones while using a respirator mask. My supervisor requires 3 volunteers to do this a couple of times a day, and unfortunately, I was a complete fool for signing myself up. What makes this extra work unbearable is that it's extremely hard to get someone to volunteer, my counterparts from the other shifts always fuck it up in the worst possible way, and it doesn't come with a pay raise. What makes this extra work unbearable is that it's extremely hard to get someone to volunteer, my counterparts from the other shifts always fuck it up in the worst possible way, and it doesn't come with a pay raise. I couldn't handle the heavy workload, so I told all of my bosses (lead, supervisor, and assistant manager) that a pay raise needs to be included when working with hazardous adhesives and they all agreed with me.

However, when my assistant manager asked the higher-ups, she told me that they refused to implement pay raises for respirator certified people, but she wouldn't give me a reason why. When I told my supervisor I didn't want to do it anymore, he told me I can't stop until I train more people to replace me which isn't happening. I ended up giving my two week notice and will look for a better job that doesn't treat me like shit.
