I'm about sick of my job whining about me being 3 or 4 minutes late often. It's not even a job where it's absolutely necessary. Obviously that is pretty important in some places. They just want us to be there for a group meeting that lasts about three minutes in the beginning of the day, telling us what campers we're working on. It's really just a stupid hoity-toity attitude. Yes, fire me for being 5 minutes late every couple of days when I am on task the other 475 minutes of the day and often stay late and the company is behind on their schedule anyways. Why get all bent out of shape for some redundant ass “meeting” that contains as little information as could be put on a sticky note in the fucking break room.
At this point I say just take an hour off of my check every two weeks. 5 minutes * 10 = 50. But they want to threaten to fire me over it when they're behind on schedule and understaffed. Who's going to cover my spot? The manager whose father just passed away? My coworkers who would need to repeatedly stay over to make up for the work I wouldn't be doing anymore because the company late policy is dumb?
It's all just a bunch of brainwashing bullshit. They'll have to have fun finding someone else who will wake up at 6am to work with toxic chemicals in an enclosed space with a cheap chemical mask and a fan for 40 hours a week at a pretty low pay, otherwise they can screw off and keep me here and at the same time keep off my neck. I'll just drive doordash while I look for another job if need be.
