Not good enough for a part time job

I'm a student and I started to work at one fast food for some extra money, as a part time job. But, after a few days they told me I'm too slow and decided to end the contract, even though I gave really my best (employers also told me that I'm giving my best, but it's not working). Did anyone else experienced that, and does it happen often in the fast food world? Because job didn't seem to be hard, I thought that anyone can get/keep the job at fast food, and now I feel really bad about myself and useless, because I didn't manage to keep it.
