Twiddling my thumbs in the office when I could (and should) be WFH

I was recently promoted (yay!) and was given a work laptop. All and I mean all of my responsibilities can be completed 100% online. I’m gen z/millennial cusp so all of my gen x/boomer managers think my duties take me all day because they’re primarily on Excel or Google Sheets. They don’t. I put in about 3 hours of work, maximum, per day. Am I going to tell them that? No. But I’m sitting in the office pretending to be productive while I have literally nothing to do. I have asked for more responsibilities multiple times and each new task adds on about 30 minutes of work. The mail in the coffin is that, when they promoted me, they gave me an office all the way across the building (it’s a large warehouse) that’s right above the bathrooms so it smells like piss. Plus the office hadn’t been used in…

The mail in the coffin is that, when they promoted me, they gave me an office all the way across the building (it’s a large warehouse) that’s right above the bathrooms so it smells like piss. Plus the office hadn’t been used in almost 3 years so everything is dusty and grimy. I spent my first day in there scrubbing every surface for 2 hours. Im pretty sure there’s mold in the carpet and it’s giving me headaches.

Sorry for the all-over post. I’m writing this at work because I have NOTHING ELSE TO DO.
