Yesterday was interesting.
I’ve been debating if I should go back to my home country (Brazil) for a while and yesterday was the nail in the coffin.
I worked for an Amazon Warehouse here in Ontario for almost an year and yesterday I got pulled into HR for a meeting. When I got there, they did their routine about I should be comfortable, that everything is fine and then the whole charade was unveiled.
I was being accused of stealing. Mind you: no evidence, no camera footage, no witnesses. Just a random accusation.
I was beyond pissed because I don’t need to steal shit from anybody. I am a college professor (WFH) in Brazil and I was working at the warehouse to make some extra money. My wife is a psychiatrist (also WFH).
They interviewed/questioned everyone I was associated with and nothing came out. I thought about taking legal action, but I don’t care anymore. Canada has been nothing but disappointing so far and I’d rather go back to my country, as requested by so many white people here in Canada, than fight anything.
Sorry for the rant. Just needed to share something here for the first time.
What pisses me off the most is the fact that I was questioned as if I was being interrogated by the police and they tried to hold me there against my will. When I screamed I’d bring my lawyer here, they backed off but I was still followed inside the place (went back to my work station to get my backpack).
Anyway, fuck Ontario, fuck Canada, fuck the racists I’ve encountered here, and fuck those companies that think they can do anything.
Edit: I don’t mean to brag about my job or my wife’s job. Just wanted to point out that I’m a good place financially and don’t need to steal anything.
