hello I'm a middle manager, one of my crew the other day asked in group chat why his benefits had not been paid into in a length of time. I informed him privately that the company is legally obligated to pay into his account for hours worked after a certain period of time and that they were behind on his payments. I was later formally reprimanded for not following the chain of command and that I should have referred him to upper management/HR.
I feel like this is highly unethical and wanted to see if I am off base here. ty
