So my husband (25m) was hired at an automotive shop as an assistant manager pretty much without an interview and hired on at $20/hr.
Come a month later, he gets a new manager above him and the manager he had before (that’s leaving the company to work in a different industry) tells him that he doesn’t have enough management experience and they’re docking his pay to federal minimum wage with 4 or 5% commissions depending on his sales.
They have yet to change his pay rate in their system, so it still reads that he makes $20/hr, and it’s been 5 days since they told him about the pay decrease. I’m just wondering if im not being patient enough with them updating the info, or if I have some reason to be as concerned as I am.
Also we just moved into an apartment and our rent is almost $900/month, so if he now makes $7.25 we’re screwed.
