Are hourly workers looked down upon more than salaried workers? PIP related

So I've been put on the PIP, and next Tuesday I will know my fate. If it were up to me, I would pass myself, because I worked hard, learned to communicate with my coworkers, become more efficient, diligent, focused and produce work correctly as needed. But who knows, I'm skeptical because I had a chance to not be put on the PIP, but I was put on it anyways because a coworker had a nitpick about how I was trying to be more thorough, but to them they felt I wasn't being focused enough. I'm an hourly worker, I think everyone else except one other coworker in my department is salaried. Do large corporations like my company tend to single out workers like me, because I'm hourly? Since they're forced to pay me if I exceed 8 hours? What's your opinion?
