What would be proper compensation for working two jobs?

About 7 months ago I unfortunately had to move positions in the same company. The department I'm now in, as I've come to learn, is one not many people are willing to work in. So within 7 months a few ppl have left and suddenly I'm the 'Senior' in a position I've barely finished training for. I've been assigned the role of two people while they look to hire. Currently work has been light and I was in shock at the news so I didn't bring up financial compensation when it happened but performance reviews are coming up and I think it would be a good time to ask for a raise, even if it's just temporary. However I've never advocated for myself in a work setting and I'm not sure how much is too much to ask for; any advice? It's a remote job($16/hr) situated in NY.
