I have a retention bonus being paid to me Dec 31, it is in my company's best interest to get rid of me before then. I have no black marks on my file, no oral or written warnings, great reviews, etc. That being said, I hate my job and want to express to my boss how unhappy I am. If I tell her I am not someone she should be planning around long term (I recently took over a department of about 15 people in a new role) could they just get rid of me right off the bat to avoid paying the bonus? I am in Massachusetts for legal concerns.
